I am Dr. Bijal Dave – Family physician, Geriatrician and a passionate chef! I have created this blog to bring forth to you healthy vegetarian recipes from all over the world which are cooked in my kitchen and served to family & friends. Since I am a practicing physician, I have encountered on several occasions that people often times equate healthy vegetarian foods with salads and soups only. Not much variety is expected in a healthy vegetarian diet. I am here to bust the myth that healthy vegetarian food is boring!! My sincere hope with this blog is to add variety for those looking to include more plant based foods to their diet. I heavily use lentils & pulses in my recipes which help reduce bad cholesterol, reduce blood sugar and help with weight management and weight loss when coupled with regular exercise. I do not use white sugar in my recipes except when it’s a dessert and only when substitution with other naturally occurring sweeteners does not yield the best results.
My recipes are approved by my picky teenager & my husband who is a successful Intervention Cardiologist and it’s important to mention that as one would imagine how passionate they would be about heart health. I hope you will enjoy this culinary journey with me.
