Ingredients

1 cup Urad Dal Bengal gram dal - skinned
1 cup finely chopped onions
1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1 tablespoon Ghee
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon Red Chilli Powder
1 tablespoon cumin and coriander powder
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon Mustard seeds
3- 4 dry red chillies
1 cup water
few curry leaves Optional
Salt to Taste

      Urad Dal Soup Recipe

      METHOD
      1. Soak the urad dal for atleast 4-5 hoours
      2. In an instant pot, add the soaked ural dal, tomoatoes, onions & 1 cup of water.
      3. Turn the seal on
      4.Set it on pressure cook for 8 mins
      5. Go for the NPR
      6. Once dal is cooked ,add salt, cumin-coriander powder, tumeric & half of chilli powder and mix
      7. Time to prepare the tempering
      8. In a small wok, add the ghee. wait until it heats.
      9. At this point, add the mustard ,cumin seeds & dry red chillies
      10. If you have curry leaves , add them at this point
      11. Once the mustard seeds start spluttering, add rest of chilli powder
      12. Turn of gas
      13. Carefully add the tempering to the dal. It will sizzle and release an amazing aroma of spices
      14. Mix it all together
      15.Ready to serve
